How much does home solar PV cost in Poland and what drives the price

Updated: 06/10/2026 · 6 min read · Ozeplan editorial team

The latest market data from the Institute for Renewable Energy (IEO) cover 2024: a micro-installation cost on average 4,069 PLN per kW, and the typical new system was 10.3 kW. The price of a specific offer depends mainly on system size, panel and inverter type, the roof, the formalities and whether a battery is included. Compare offers only for the same scope of work and with the equipment models listed.

New micro-installations in 2024141,500 (1.43 GW)

2024 data, IEO report "Rynek fotowoltaiki w Polsce 2025".

The gap between micro-installations and farms shows a simple rule: the larger the system, the lower the cost per kilowatt, because part of the cost (design, travel, formalities, inverter) is spread over more power. IEO did not publish a report in 2026, so 2024 is the latest year with its average cost.

What the price depends on

•

System size (kWp): it should follow your annual consumption, not the roof area.

•

Panels: bifacial modules of about 500 Wp dominate the market; they differ in efficiency, warranty and manufacturer.

•

Inverter: a hybrid inverter lets you add a battery later without replacing it.

•

Roof and mounting: covering, pitch, building height, access or a ground-mounted structure.

•

Cable routes and DC/AC protection devices.

•

Formalities: above 6.5 kW the design must be agreed with a fire-safety expert.

•

An energy storage system, if it is part of the offer.

What a battery costs in the subsidy programme

The rules of the "Przydomowe magazyny energii, part 2" programme cap eligible cost at 3,000 PLN per kWh of capacity (purchase and installation, excluding the inverter and EMS). A more expensive battery gets no subsidy. See the guide Home energy storage.

How to compare offers

1.

Ask for offers with the same power and named models of panels, inverter and mounting.

2.

Check the scope: design, fire-safety agreement, grid operator notification, installation, commissioning and handover.

3.

Put the full final price, completion date and consequences of delay in the contract, as the consumer authority UOKiK recommends.

4.

Watch for paid "audits" and "express" fees added on top of the price.

5.

Check the crew's qualifications, described in How to choose an installer.

Thermal modernisation tax relief

An owner or co-owner of a single-family house can deduct spending on a PV system and energy storage from income, up to 53,000 PLN in total per taxpayer. Amounts covered by a subsidy cannot be deducted. More in Subsidies and tax relief.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a 10 kW solar system cost?

According to IEO, the average micro-installation cost in 2024 was 4,069 PLN per kW, and the typical new system was 10.3 kW. The exact price depends on panels, inverter, roof and formalities, so compare offers with the equipment and scope listed.

Is a larger system cheaper per kW?

Yes, the cost per kilowatt falls as size grows because part of the cost is fixed. IEO data for 2024 show 4,069 PLN/kW for micro-installations and about 2,425 PLN/kW for farms.

How much does a home battery cost per kWh?

The "Przydomowe magazyny energii, part 2" programme treats at most 3,000 PLN per kWh of capacity (purchase and installation) as eligible cost. Market prices outside the programme depend on the manufacturer and the inverter.

Can a PV system be deducted from tax?

Yes, under the thermal modernisation relief an owner of a single-family house deducts up to 53,000 PLN of spending, including PV and energy storage, based on VAT invoices.
