How to choose a solar installer in Poland: qualifications, contract, warranties

Updated: 06/10/2026 · 6 min read · Ozeplan editorial team

An electrical installer should hold a group 1 qualification certificate: E (operation, including installation) or D (supervision), valid for 5 years. The UDT renewable installer certificate is voluntary and valid for 5 years. Grid operators accept micro-installations from a person with a UDT certificate, electrical qualifications or construction qualifications. Put the full final price, completion date and consequences of delay in the contract. You can withdraw from a contract signed off-premises within 14 days (30 days after an unsolicited visit).

Qualifications to ask about

•

Qualification certificate E (operation: maintenance, repairs, installation) or D (supervision) in group 1, which covers equipment that generates, converts and transmits electricity. Valid for 5 years, issued by qualification committees such as SEP.

•

UDT renewable installer certificate: voluntary, covers PV among others, valid for 5 years and renewable. UDT keeps a public register.

•

Manufacturer certificates for panels, inverters and batteries confirm training on installing that equipment.

On crew profiles in our service, documents marked as checked were compared with the scan by an administrator. SEP and UDT qualifications are shown to the client only after an offer is accepted, in the investment room.

What the contract should include

•

The full final price and payment schedule.

•

System power and models of panels, inverter, mounting and any battery.

•

Scope: design, fire-safety agreement above 6.5 kW, grid operator notification, installation, commissioning and as-built documentation.

•

Completion date and consequences of delay.

•

Manufacturer warranty terms and the workmanship warranty.

UOKiK warns against extra paid "audits" and "express" fees. A commercial guarantee cannot limit statutory consumer rights.

The right to withdraw

You can withdraw from a contract signed off-premises (for example at home) within 14 days, or within 30 days if it was signed during an unsolicited visit or a trip. If the business did not inform you of this right, the period is extended by 12 months. If you explicitly ask for work to start before the period ends, you pay for the work already done.

Warranties

Product and power warranties are set by the manufacturer; there is no statutory standard for their length. Ask for warranty cards for all equipment and check whether the warranty requires periodic inspections.
